I almost get the feel that this was a made to order set for perhaps a newly pregnant f of the designer

The back and shoulders cut to drape and emphasize volume and this was then beaded with glass tube beads

I love the sides - they are left open to the inner seaming so you get that feel of a true caftan and all the decadence and flow that a caftan would have

These were a blessing for the jet set travelers as they can be thrown into a suitcase and look chic and fresh at the other end when pulled out. They are also great day to evening pieces. Their version was one of the best to be found and it is not heavy and scratchy like some from this time period.
